On May 15 and 16, 2025, it was time again - the JTL Partner Convention opened its doors at the Rhein Sieg Forum in Siegburg. Under the guiding theme "Path to Europe's Leading eCommerce Platform", JTL (short for JTL-Software-GmbH) leading players within the e-commerce industry. fynax was on site for you on the second day.

JTL presents its new platform strategy

It is intended to be nothing less than a milestone on the way to becoming the leading European e-commerce platform. With the most innovative transformation phase in the company's history, JTL intends to evolve from an ERP specialist to a platform provider over the next few years. The core of the new strategy is an open, modular ecosystem and a hybrid cloud infrastructure, which will promote tech participation and adapt flexibly to the needs of users. Customizing, app ecosystem, partner integration and multi-operating forms are to be combined in this way.

"Our platform vision is open, collaborative and technology-driven. Our partners and customers are at the heart of this strategy," explained CEO Sebastian Evers in his keynote speech. The focus was also on the new JTL Hub as a control center for user, app and role management.

Networking and professionalization

For fynax, the JTL PartnerConvention was of course more than just a must-attend event. On May 15, we were still in action at Multichannelday (Click here for the recap) and therefore concentrated on the second day of the trade fair in Siegburg, which in no way detracted from the experience for us. The exchange with platform providers, tech partners and industry colleagues is essential in order to identify the latest trends and enter into new partnerships. During the various discussions, it became clear time and time again what great potential there is in collaboration around accounting, taxes and digital processes. Tax consulting is and will remain an ongoing topic in the e-commerce community - whether on the part of retailers or providers. We were able to present ourselves as a competent partner for digital tax consulting in many discussions and further expand our network.

It was clear to see how much online retail is becoming more professional. The practical presentations on topics such as e-invoicing, financial accounting, returns handling and accounting interfaces clearly demonstrated the progress that has been made. There is a solution for (almost) every challenge in various price segments and nobody has to struggle with Excel spreadsheets any more. SMEs in particular benefit from this. This also applies to digital tax consultancy, which has ever better tools at its disposal, especially for financial accounting, which can integrate a large number of upstream systems via multifunctional interfaces. As a result, increasingly complex processes can be processed more efficiently and employee capacities can be used for other important tasks.

Conclusion

The JTL Partner Convention 2025 was a strong event. JTL impressively presented its new strategy and there were plenty of interesting presentations and discussions - accompanied by relaxed networking, culinary delights and the evening event in the sunshine. Topics such as automation, innovation and the vision of the JTL Hub made it clear in which direction the ecosystem is moving. The constant professionalization and further development of the tools and platforms offer retailers real added value and can act as a turbo in business development. Together with competent tax consultants specializing in e-commerce, nothing stands in the way of successful online trading.
