The e-commerce sector is experiencing Price records for cryptocurrencies also a rapid new development. However, the associated tax issues are complex and require specialized knowledge in an area of the industry that has long been neglected. As part of the ETL Group, fynax can draw on precisely this expertise.
So what will the 2025 tax year look like? What do companies and tax advisors need to prepare for? And what role will crypto play in this? Are Bitcoin and co. possibly driving the upswing? Taxes 2025: More than just selective changes?
The Growth Opportunities Act, which was passed in March 2024, was eagerly awaited, but the big hit failed to materialize. The relief laws that have come into force have also not had the impact that many had hoped for. Instead, there have been selective adjustments: "Larger, visionary approaches that signal to us that we are moving into the future are unfortunately still lacking," says Dietrich Loll, Managing Director of ETL SteuerRecht, summing up the current situation. What the economy really needs is strong impetus and tax policy incentives that boost investment and promote sustainable growth. The tax expert is therefore calling for the big picture to finally be taken.
Crypto on the rise: more than just an alternative form of investment?
In addition to traditional business topics, another area is increasingly coming into focus: cryptocurrencies. "Companies that are traditionally positioned are increasingly looking for alternative investment opportunities. Crypto is therefore increasingly becoming an important pillar of a company's portfolio," says crypto expert Dr. Benedikt Krüger in an interview.
As interest grows, so does the need for qualified advice. Loll and Krüger are also aware of this: the two experts conducted the first proceedings on crypto taxation in Germany before the Federal Fiscal Court. "The range of client inquiries on the subject of crypto is wide and the quality of the advisory services offered varies greatly," says Krüger.
