Hello from the beautiful Hanseatic city of Bremen! On September 26, we gathered our fynax law firms for BootCampus 2025 and provided them with a wealth of knowledge. There was a varied programme, starting with an insight into the industry and a review of the last twelve months, through price optimization, logistics and accounting to VAT, AI and automation. There were also exciting internal insights into organization and marketing. Our IT and software service provider was also there eurodataour partner SnapSoft and the logistics specialist fulfill.one and our friends from pathway solutions.
Insight and review
The evening before, there was already great joy at the get-together with a delicious BBQ and good wine. In a relaxed atmosphere, there was an opportunity to catch up with old acquaintances and make new contacts.
The next morning, the day opened with an insight into the e-commerce industry and a review of the year by my colleagues Saravanan Sundaram and Nicolas Fellner. Together with fynax manager Nadja Müller, the two of them have represented fynax at a large number of trade fairs and events over the past twelve months. Examples include the AccounteOne Customer Day at the end of 2024 and Kaufland's ECD (April), OMR (June) and Shopware Community Day (September) in 2025. The buzzword AI was a recurring theme at all events. fynax uses its presence at these events to repeatedly establish new contacts and partnerships (this year, among others SnapSoft, xentral, Mentify, Jera and BAROS Solutions) and identify new trends.
Price optimization, logistics and accounting
In an informative presentation, Anett Lukas from SnapSoft gave us a deep insight into the price optimization tool SnapTrade. The company, founded in 2013 and based in Torgau (Saxony), can now look back on more than 10 years of experience and supports over 1,000 online retailers. Anett used a specific example to show how the mechanisms behind the Amazon BuyBox work and how online retailers can benefit from automated price adjustments. She emphasized: "It's not about being the cheapest, but the best provider. It's not the lowest price that wins, but the best price for the product." SnapTrade operates within predefined parameters and adjusts prices in real time. A very effective tool for increasing conversion and sales and absolutely exciting for our fynax clients.
From the logistics sector, we had Isabell Kochan from fulfill.one, a logistics and fulfillment service provider, as our guest. Her presentation dealt with internationalization, tax grey areas, ERP systems and best practice. She highlighted international trade as an opportunity for growth, but also emphasized the challenges such as customs and import regulations or language and cultural differences. These can only be overcome with a well thought-out strategy that includes logistics and tax advice. The decisive factor here is an ERP system as the nerve center of the online store. This should be introduced at an early stage and properly configured. Store operators, logistics experts and tax consultants should work together as early as the system setup phase. This will help to avoid mistakes and make international trade successful.
Ricardo Christ gave an exciting presentation on how pathway (automated accounting solution specializing in data transfer from shopify to DATEV) works and the challenges of accounting in e-commerce. Order and payment data often do not match, which leads to problems in accounting. This is exactly where pathway comes in and collects the incoming order and payment data, automatically assigns it and then forwards it to DATEV. Using the example of shopify Shop and payments with PayPal, he showed how pathway assigns collective payments to individual orders and thus enables clean accounting for tax consultants.
Value added tax, AI and automation
At a meeting of tax consultants, the core topic of taxes should of course not be missing. We invited Peter Backes from ETL SteuerRecht. He spoke on the topics of VAT in the areas of intra-Community supplies and cross-border acquisitions, small businesses, e-invoicing and ViDA (VAT in the digital age).
eurodata took up the topic of AI and automation. In particular, it was about AI agents and how they can help in the day-to-day work of law firms. They work independently according to previously defined guidelines and are primarily intended to perform recurring tasks automatically. AI agents are also referred to as butlers, as they offer direct assistance and relief, which makes work more efficient overall.
Conclusion
It was an all-round successful and inspiring event. You could clearly feel how passionate everyone was about e-commerce. The evening before was all about exchanging ideas and networking. Friday then offered a full program with exciting lectures, presentations of useful tools, innovations from IT as well as internal news and information from the world of fynax and ETL. The tax consultants were able to take a lot of new knowledge home with them to their offices. We are already looking forward to the next reunion in this round.
