On 11.04.2025 it was time again - Kaufland invited to its annual E-Commerce Day. The event has been taking place since 2010 and has grown considerably since then. Back then, it all started with 18 exhibitors. By 2025, there were already 100, which alone shows the importance and growth of e-commerce. Of course, we from fynax were also represented with our own stand and had a fantastic day together with the other exhibitors. We met old acquaintances and made numerous new contacts.
Kaufland expands its marketplace
The E-Commerce Day has become a cherished tradition. Already on Thursday at the cozy BBQ there was plenty of opportunity to meet again, get to know each other and exchange ideas. On Friday, the day was packed with interesting presentations on three stages. These ranged right across the e-commerce cosmos - from logistics and shipping, software solutions, marketing and the use of AI to performance optimization, increasing reach and international trade. Not only, but especially the last point is of course closely linked to tax issues - as we learned throughout the day at our stand.
But the music wasn't just playing on the stages. There was also a lot going on at the exhibitors' stands. There were many conversations and lively discussions, new contacts were made and partnerships were initiated.
During the event, Kaufland announced its plans to further expand its e-commerce marketplace. In late summer 2025, the Livegang for France and Italy planned. Retailers will then have a Europe-wide platform with a potential reach of 140 million customers. The all-in-one Kaufland Global Marketplace solution enables retailers to internationalize quickly and easily. With just one registration, online retailers can sell nationally and internationally on all Kaufland marketplaces and seamlessly manage their offers, orders and product data from one portal.
fynax shows presence
It was palpable that the e-commerce cosmos is moving closer together. The will to create something together for the German and European market was clearly noticeable. Accordingly, our stand was also very well frequented. The topic of tax consulting in e-commerce was omnipresent and was hotly debated. We held many discussions and expanded our network. Among other things, we were able to talk to Martin Baumgartner from IANEO Solutionsa provider of software technology with many years of experience, and Marissa Hahn from the payment provider Nuvei conduct interviews. There were also discussions with Jürgen Neumann from Rajaa specialist for shipping and packaging, and Benjamin Klein from the invoicing software provider Easybill.
The highlight, however, was the interview with Tim Arlt, CEO of Dealer association. Many of you will have noticed that a trend study on e-commerce has taken place as part of a cooperation with fynax - and hopefully you also took part diligently. The data has now been analyzed and processed. The study provides interesting insights into the current situation of German e-commerce. In this interview, Tim Arlt provides an insight into the results. Of course, the topic of taxes is also prominently represented and discussed here. The evaluations will be presented together with the interview in the week starting April 22 and shared on our social media channels.
Conclusion
A really great day in Cologne. The event clearly showed that a positive wind is blowing through the German e-commerce scene. People are coming together, exchanging ideas, sharing tips and building networks. Taxes remain one of the top topics. With fynax, you have the right partner at your side. We provide you with expert advice and support on all tax issues.
